Trying to Transcribe - Deed from Samuel Nicholson to Abigail Albertson 1708 - Pt 2

Today is the remainder of the deed from yesterday. Samuel made it clear who would get the property if Abigail had no descendants who could inherit it. But in my post from day before yesterday I noted that Abigail had at least 8 children, which included my ancestor Aaron Albertson

In full and ample manner but if in that my daughter
Abigail Albertson should die and should leave no heir
that proceeds from her own line that should come to possess
the above mentioned Plantation or the one half of the
said tract of land above mentioned then I give the above
said Plantation unto my daughter Hannah Nicholson
and to her heirs forever in witness whereof I set my hand
this the 12th day of the 5th month 1708.

Trying to Transcribe - Deed from Samuel Nicholson to Abigail Albertson 1708 - Pt 1

Yesterday I did the ancestor birthday of Abigail Nicholson, who married Nathaniel Albertson. I noted that her father Samuel Nicholson did not name her in his will. But he did name her as his daughter when he deeded property to her a few years after she was married. This is that deed.

Due to the handwriting it appears to be a copy made by the county from earlier records. This was available on FamilySearch.org from Perquimans County North Carolina records, deed book A, no. 285.

Trying to Transcribe - Will of Ludwig Falk, Pt. 1

This will of Ludwig Falk, my gt-grandfather, apparently was never probated. He wrote it about 3 1/2 years before he died. He left a bequest to his wife, but nothing was given to his children. He probably made some other arrangements for anything he wanted to be given to them. It was because of this will that I first had to learn about the word town meaning township in the state of Wisconsin.

Last Will and Testament of Ludwig Falk

I, Ludwig Falk of the town of Pulaski
county of Iowa and State of Wisconsin, being of
sound and disposing mind and memory, and
mindful of the frailties, and uncertainties of human
life, do make publish and declare this to be my last
will and testament.
First   It is my will that no part of the amount
hereinafter mentioned is to be used to pay my
funeral expense, debts or any other charges, as I
have made ample and sufficient provision for the
aforesaid purposes.
Second   I give, grant, devise and bequeath unto my
beloved wife Anna Louise all of the following described
perposal property To Wit: the sum of six hundred
(600) Dollars, consisting of six certain promissory
notes, with interest at the rate of seven per cent per
annum and secured by a mortage deed of ____date.
Said notes and mortgage deed being executed by Rienhold
Manske and Wilhemina Manske his wife to Charles
F. Gutknecht and dated the 26th day of March 1892
and recorded in the office of Register of Deeds for Iowa
County the 5th day of April 1892 at 11 3/4 o'clock A.M.

Said notes made payable in six years from date and
were duly and legally assigned over to me together with

Trying to Transcribe - Will of John Howard Bond

While transcribing, I decided to do the will of my gt-grandfather, John Howard Bond. I had already done his father's will (Solomon Bond) on June 26-28, 2017. It was fun to see that my grandmother, Florence E. Falk, was one of the beloved daughters and received an inheritence.

63 years of age and in sound mind

Trying to Transcribe - Will of Solomon Bond of Iowa- Pt 2

Yesterday, 29 Jun 2017, I began the will of my 4th great-grandfather, Solomon Bond, who died in Mahaska County Iowa, probably in 1851. Today is the final section of that will.

Solomon names 7 children in his will, including 3 deceased daughters. However, there is no mention of another child, Mary, which I had found in my research. Mary was still alive in 1850 when the will was written, as she is on the 1860 census in Henry County, Kentucky and William Bond and family were living with her. Apparently Mary had no children. She had remained in Kentucky when the rest of the family moved north. I don't know why he didn't name her in the will. Maybe he had given her something when she stayed in Kentucky. It may remain a mystery.

Stillwell to have equally between them one Seventh,

And it is my desire that said shares be paid to them as soon as my
Executor Shall be able to do so after the sale of my estate.

Trying to Transcribe - Will of Solomon Bond - Pt 1

Today I am trying to transcribe the will of my 2nd great-grandfather, Solomon Bond, who died in Linn County Oregon in February 1900. His will was apparently written in 1887. I have in my files two copies of his will, both handwritten. One copy is on 3 pages and the other copy is on 2 pages. The latter appears to be what has been recorded in the will book. The other copy came from the probate files. Both copies are rather faded so are hard to read, but I'll do my best. Please contact me if you see any errors. I'm going to use the 3 part version today.

Know all Men by these present that
I Solomon Bond in Halsey, Linn County
State of Oregon being in good health,
and of sound and disposing mind and
memory do make and publish this my
last will and testament.
1st I hereby constitute my son Charles
S. Bond without Bonds to be Sole Executor
of this my last will directing My said execu-
tor to pay all my just debt and funeral
expense.
2nd After the payment of my just debt
and funeral expenses, I give and bequeath
all my personal and real estate to my beloved
wife Huldah Bond during her life time.
3rd After the death of my said wife
I desire that my real and personal estate
be divided into nine equal shares and to
be given to my heirs as follow to wit:
4th I give and bequeath unto my son

less the sum of two hundred dollars.
