Yesterday
I wrote about my great-grandparents in 1864, so today I am going back
one generation and 15 years, back to the time of the California Gold
Rush. As far as I have been able to determine, none of these 2nd
great-grandparents went to California until later.
If
I knew about all of my 2nd great-grandparents there would be 16 in
this listing. However, I don't, so there are only the 12 who were
living in the United States at that time. The other 4 were in
Prussia, probably Posen.
You
can see that there were 4 different states and 8 different counties
where these ancestors lived back in 1849.
