Veterans Day 2017

It was 99 years ago today when the newspapers announced the end of the Great War, now known as World War I. In April I wrote about some of my relatives who served in that War, including Ruel Bond, my cousin, who was killed and buried in France.

I have written about some of my relatives who served in the Union Army during the Civil War and the War of 1812. As I continue to write about various relatives I'm sure I will be including more veterans.

Today we give thanks to all veterans who have served in the military in whatever time or place. We do not want to forget what we owe to them.
