Newspapers From the Past – Isoms Take Vacation Trip

I do enjoy reading old newspapers, especially since many have been digitized and are on-line. Often I can find out what family members were doing years ago, including information about other relatives connected to them. It was almost 70 years ago, 26 Aug 1948, when the Register-Guard, Eugene Oregon, reported the following among their items from the Halsey Oregon area.

Mr & Mrs. E. D. Isom had returned from a 10 day vacation trip. Mrs. Isom was my cousin Nellie Bond. On their vacation they had visited their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Carl Isom at Tillamook and their daughter Mrs. W. J. Meadows and family at Florence. But the Isoms also did regular tourist activities, visiting the Trees of Mystery, Oregon Caves, Crater Lake and Peterson Rock Gardens near Bend. I certainly hope they had an enjoyable trip.
